  1. You are here Step 1 of 4 Get in

    Start on the tools

A building services apprenticeship, or the six week retrofit award if you want to try the work before committing two years to it. Either way you start out alongside a fitter.

Six weeks for the short award. The apprenticeship runs two years and pays you throughout.
    What you need
GCSE grade 3 or above in English and Maths, or a Level 1 first

    2 courses in Gloucestershire

Leads to A Level 3, and work on a heating team.

  2. Step 2 of 4 Qualify

    Qualify, then add heat pumps

The plumbing and heating qualification is the base. The air source heat pump award sits on top of it, and it is the one that makes you employable on this work specifically.

    What you need
A Level 3 in building services, or industry experience

    1 course in Gloucestershire

Leads to Supervising installations, or moving across into design and assessment.

  4. Step 4 of 4 Lead

    Lead and design

Leading a team, or designing heating across a whole scheme instead of one house at a time.

    Experienced pay
    £38k

No county provision has been found at this level. This is the gap the Faculty is being asked to close.
